Your account, plans and billing
One aixplain account signs you in to the web app at app.aixplain.com, aixplain Desktop, Koder in the terminal and the Agents SDK. Usage on cloud is paid with prepaid credits, and each workspace has its own balance. This article explains how to sign up and sign in, what each plan includes, how credits work and what uses them, how to top up and track spending, and who in a team can manage billing. For current prices, see Pricing.
Create an account
- Go to app.aixplain.com.
- Sign up with your email address or a social sign-in such as Google.
- Verify your email address if asked.
Social sign-in accepts only verified email addresses, and it matches your exact email address. You can browse the web app and the marketplace without signing in; private pages and actions ask you to sign in.
On the web
Go to app.aixplain.com and sign in with the method you signed up with. If you forgot your password, use the password reset link on the sign-in page. Signing out clears your account data from the browser.
In aixplain Desktop
- Open aixplain. The first time, it asks you to sign in.
- Your browser opens to finish signing in. If it doesn't, select Copy next to the sign-in link in the app and paste it into your browser.
- Go back to the app.
An app can also sign in with a short code: the app shows the code, and you confirm it on app.aixplain.com.
In the terminal
koder login
koder whoami
koder modelskoder login signs you in, koder whoami shows the account you're signed in with, and koder models lists the models your account can use.
For the Agents SDK, you use an API key instead of signing in. See Build and deploy agents.

Core
Explore on your own and pay only for what you use. You get free credits when you sign up, with no card needed. After that, you top up as you go.
Scale
Build, ship and share agents across your teams on cloud. When you create a team workspace, you choose how many seats you need. Each seat is $75 a month, yours included, paid up front as usage credits that don't roll over. If your team uses them all before the month ends, top up anytime. You pay by card, and the workspace opens once it is paid. Every member you invite takes a seat.
Scale is in early access: ask for a spot, or start with your free credits.
Enterprise
The aixplain OS on your own servers, to use, build and govern agents. Your data stays on your servers. Models and tools you host there use no credits; you add usage credits only when aixplain connects you to cloud models and tools. Single sign-on (SSO) is coming soon. To scope a deployment, see Enterprise or contact us.
How credits work
- One credit is one US dollar.
- Credits are prepaid. Each workspace has its own balance, and every model, tool and agent run draws from it.
- Credits stay in their workspace. They can't move between workspaces.
- Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase.
- Free credits come with every new account, with no card needed. Use them within 7 days, before they expire.
What uses credits
| What you run | How it's priced |
|---|---|
| Models | By the model provider, usually per token. Each price is on the model's Marketplace card |
| Tools | By the tool provider, usually per call |
| Agent runs | The sum of every model and tool call in the run, plus 20% for orchestration, inspectors, memory and tracing |
For example, a model at $10 per million input tokens gets you about 100,000 input tokens for one credit. See prices in the Marketplace.
What doesn't use aixplain credits:
- Local models and tools in aixplain Desktop.
- A connected Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor plan: it counts against that plan's limits.
- Your own provider key: your provider bills you directly.
Top up credits
Pay-as-you-go top-ups start at $10. Payment goes through Stripe's hosted pages, by card. Credits are added to the selected workspace only.
On the web
- Open Settings → Billing in the workspace you want to fund. To fund another workspace, switch to it with the workspace switcher first.
- Select Add credits.
- Enter the amount, choose a payment card and confirm.
In aixplain Desktop
- Open Settings → Account & usage.
- Check the selected team, its credits and your saved cards.
- Top up or add a card. Checkout opens in your browser.
In the terminal
Use /billing in the terminal app, or run:
koder billing
koder billing top-up --amount 10
koder billing add-cardkoder billing shows your credits, koder billing top-up opens checkout for the amount you give and koder billing add-card adds a payment card. Each opens a hosted page in your browser.
Redeem a voucher
Open Settings → Billing, choose to redeem a voucher and enter the code. Voucher credits are added to the balance at once.
Track and cap spending
- See every charge: every run's cost shows in its trace, and the workspace usage page lists each transaction and breaks usage down by API key. In code,
result.used_creditsgives a run's cost. - Cap a key: set a credit limit on an API key that resets daily, weekly or monthly, or stays as a lifetime cap.
- Cap a run: set a budget on an agent to limit what one run can cost. See Budgets.
- Switch off: turn off any agent or key at once.
- On Scale: set access and budget policies for every member and group.
When the balance reaches zero, runs that cost credits are refused until you add credits, and the app blocks new runs and shows a warning. Top up to carry on.
Teams and billing roles
In a personal workspace, you manage your own billing. In a team workspace, Owners and Admins manage payment, buy credits and set up automatic top-up, and every member can redeem vouchers and view transactions and analytics. For members, roles, team credits and shared assets, see Manage your workspace.
Troubleshooting
The browser didn't open when I signed in to the app
Select Copy next to the sign-in link in the app, paste it into your browser and finish signing in there.
Google sign-in shows an error instead of its prompt
The page shows an error when Google doesn't show its sign-in prompt. Reload the page and try again, or sign in with your email address.
I don't see my team's agents or credits
You may be in your personal workspace. Switch to the team workspace with the workspace switcher.
I can't see the top-up option
Only Owners and Admins can buy credits in a team workspace. Ask an Owner or Admin to top up, or to change your role.
I topped up, but my runs still fail
Check that you topped up the workspace your app or API key uses. Credits in one workspace can't pay for usage in another.
The browser didn't open for checkout
Open Settings → Billing in your browser and top up there.
