Meet the iron butterfly: aixplain’s new brand

Today we’re introducing a new brand for aixplain: a new mark, the iron butterfly, and our name in lowercase. The look is new. What it stands for is the conviction we started with in Silicon Valley in 2020, and the one we have built the aixplain operating system for AI agents around since July 2024.

The iron butterfly

Our new mark is a butterfly cut from engineered shapes, with its top and bottom wings drawn differently. Zoom out and it reads as a single letter: the x in aixplain.

We call it the iron butterfly because it holds the two things we build. The butterfly is change: AI agents that take on real work and change how a team operates, then a whole organization. The iron is what holds that change up: a runtime and controls strong enough for work that matters.

Coral leads the new palette, on a near-black and near-white stage. The feel we’re after is engineered, not decorated.

Freedom is in our code

aixplain was founded on decades of building AI systems at Amazon, Meta, eBay and Leidos, and on a single conviction: the tools that give enterprises their edge should be available to everyone. Not just the biggest companies. Not just the most resourced markets. Anyone, anywhere.

Our vision is unchanged: shift AI from a concentrated technological privilege into a shared global capability. That means AI that works locally on a global level, for users, governments and enterprises in every language, every market and every infrastructure environment.

AI agents you own

For an organization, freedom means ownership. aixplain is the operating system for accountable AI agents you own.

  • Your assets. The agents, tools and knowledge your teams build are your organization’s property: digital wealth that grows with every agent you add, because each one makes the next faster to build.
  • Your infrastructure. Run the aixplain OS on aixplain cloud, or install it on your own servers: on-prem, in your VPC or air-gapped.
  • Your models. Use any model, including the ones you host, and change the model or the server with no rebuild. An agent’s owner, policies and history stay.
  • Your rules. An owner answers for every agent, and inspector agents check its inputs and outputs before anything leaves.

Built with an ecosystem

aixplain is powered by an ecosystem of builders and businesses working on mission-critical solutions. The Marketplace brings 1,000+ models and tools from many providers into one place. Developers build agents in their own code with the Agents SDK, and what a team builds can stay private or be published for others to use. Every model, tool and agent added makes the platform more capable for everyone on it.

What comes next

The new brand opens our next chapter: from personal AI to organization-wide results. Every person on a team works with AI agents, and the organization runs more of its operations and services on the agents they build, each with an owner, an inspector and a cost on every run.
